Neither rain, nor sleet, nor dyslexia?

We often not the intended recipient of the mail we receive in our mailbox. This wouldn't be so bad if it was just mail for the previous tenants; we do receive plenty of mail for Sarah Carroll, but since she used to live here, and it's mostly junk mail, I don't get too worried about it. But no, we seem to receive mail for other addresses. You look at the address, and it's not even close. Our address has a 1063 in it. These other address have 1036 or 1136 or 1161 or some other such nonsense that is quite obviously NOT our address. And one of the worst things about it is that we have no outgoing mail slot. We keep getting mail that does not belong to us, and we have to go all the way into the post office to give it back. One time Clark just walked down the road and knocked on someone's door. In fact, when we got the checks without Clark's name on them (see Clark's blog), they were hand delivered by our neighbor because they came in his box instead. Do you see how this is a problem? Who knows if the mail is actually being delivered or if it's just randomly going to someone else's house? It makes me somewhat concerned about identity theft. Clark is going to go in a chew them out, excuse me, kindly explain our problem to them today.

As a side note, we did get some interesting mail because of this common oversight. We received something from the Purgatory Jail in Hurricane. It looked like a hand written letter. Hmm, should I be worried that someone in our neighborhood is receiving mail from a convict? Or should I be less worried because he is in "purgatory" where he belongs?
