Burnt

Last night, I made soup for dinner. Something had been spilled on the stove burner, so our house smelled like burnt. Then, a little while later, I decided we needed some cookies for dessert. Something had been spilled in the oven, so our house smelled like burnt. Then this morning I had toast for breakfast. Something had been spilled in our toaster oven, so our house smelled like burnt.

I'm tempted to light a candle, but based on the last 16 hours, isn't that just tempting fate?
