Summertime, by the Gershwins - from Porgy and Bess. A classic, and very appropriate with the recent heat wave. I'll never forget when we sang this as a practice song in Relief Society back in the day. "Yo daddy's rich, and yo mamma's good looking..."
I was not suggesting it. It was wacky - not sure how it got on the rotation, but things were different in the old days. Maybe it was someone's idea of a great "Cultural Refinement" moment.

I'm trying to imagine how it would go if I picked this song for the practice song in Relief Society. . . very interesting.
