Remember how we're having a baby in 2 months? It turns out we are in charge of naming this little person. I don't know who thought that was a good idea, but I guess that's how the cards fall. It also turns out that, unlike just about everyone else we know, we are much better at thinking of boy names than girl names. And yet we're having another girl. (Which really delights me, I just don't know what to name her.)
Which brings me to: The Name Poll!
Because we can't call her Baby Bing for the rest of her life!
Here is our list of possible names:
Caroline
Ella
Eleanor
Sophie
Lucy
Joy
Please note that Eleanor would likely be called either Ella or Ellie, and that Caroline would be called nothing but Caroline. None of this Carol business.
As far as middle names go, I think I'd like to go with either Joy or Elizabeth. Joy is my grandmother's name, and Elizabeth is my other grandmother's name (and is my middle name). Of course, if this baby's first name is Joy, then her middle name wouldn't be Joy. Joy Joy Blockburger doesn't sit well with me for some reason. And lately Clark has started throwing around Jane, so that is a possible middle name as well. (I suppose it could be a first name, too. . . I'm not sure what his intentions with "Jane" are, I just know he rejected it a long time ago, and suddenly he pulled it out of the pile. I like it, for the record, and always have.)
So, there you have it. Go! Vote! Comment and suggest! (Google Readers: there is a poll on a sidebar of my blog. Click on through to see it!)

One of my dear friends has a Sophie Elizabeth and I LOVE that name. I also like the name Ella and Lucy!! Good luck!!! I am soo excited for you!
We really liked the name Elliana. If I had to pick one from your list, it would be Caroline. Good luck, our poor Zachary was call Baby Lowe for 2 days at the hospital because we had no name for him..
I vote for Caroline Joy, or Eleanor and call her Nora, but I think they are all good choices. Good luck with the name-choosing. It's always an adventure for us.
I also vote for Caroline Joy!!
Our Layla's middle name is Hope... so I LOVE using these beautiful, yet positive names. (plus, it's a family name for you)
I like very much Sophie...
Bye.
I think Ella and Ellie are the cutest nicknames, so I'm going to have to vote for Eleanor. And, speaking as one who made it a point to keep Joy as her middle name after she got married, I would vote for Joy as a middle name. Sophie Elizabeth is also really cute too though!
I'm gonna have to throw my two cents in for Jane! How cute would Julia & Jane be?!?
You've got two of our names (no, we aren't preggo yet, just baby hungry) on your list. Great minds think alike. :)
I love Eleanor and Lucy - they are so cute!
Oh boy, we are in the opposite boat as you guys are right now! We had a girl name picked out but now we've got to come up with another boy name. As far as your choices go... of course I'm partial to Lucy, but I also really like Sophie & Ellie. You've got some great ones on your list though, so it's a win-win situation. :)
BTW, I can't believe that you're due so soon, how exciting!
My friend just had a baby and named her Jillian Elinor. I like Eleanor. I like all of them, really.
We are good at picking out girl names, but can't think of any boy names! (Not that we are currently working on anything to name!!)
Ok, so I totally like Eleanor Joy! I'm glad that others like it too!
First congrats! Second, I would go with Ella :) I actually just stumbled on it while looking for followers for mine. Im a first time author trying to promote my book! If you get a chance please take a look at my blog www.wordsareinnermusic.blogspot.com Thanks!
Just so you know, I voted, but I'm not going to tell you for which one. (It's a secret ballot!)
I think Caroline goes really cute with Julia.
I think Caroline goes really well with Julia.
You should name her Crystal in honor of Clark's job or St. Georgette in honor of the city in which you reside.
I like Caroline Elizabeth. It's a quite important sounding name. I also like the names Ella and Sohpie. Good luck and congrats.
Apparently I'm behind the times. I didn't even check till the poll was over! They are such cute names, no wonder you're having trouble deciding. Maybe you should see if Julia has an un-bendable preference and go with that one! :) I might have to vote for Sophie just out of the principle of the thing!
Late respone-- you have excellent taste in names! Glad to see all appears to be going well!
