The Birds

You ever seen The Birds? Um, I think we're about to be living it. In the last week there are suddenly Birds! Everywhere! Clark came home last night to report that there were about a dozen birds on our front lawn, in addition to the dozen on our back lawn, in addition to all the birds on the side of the house, and in the trees. They are everywhere! And they make quite the racket at dusk and dawn. Quite. The. Racket. Not that it really bothers me, I'm up long before dawn and in bed long after dusk, but it's a little unnerving.

I know, I should be grateful that it's spring, birds are singing, the weather is lovely, blah blah blah. But dude. Have you seen that movie? It's creepy. And there is no resolution in the end, the birds are still crazy and everywhere, they just run away. And there isn't even any music AT ALL in the whole show, except for when the school children sing their song, which makes it even creepier! And it's happening in my backyard!

I also think it's especially appropriate, because Clark and I talked about how we needed to watch The Birds after the birds were over. Apparently we don't need to watch it. We just need to keep a weather eye out for the actual birds. If you don't hear from us for a few days, send help. The birds are attacking.

Birds are v. creepy. In the movie when they have the trained crows sitting on the playground there are actually way more birds then there should have been. Apparently crows just sitting around attract more and more crows. This is what is happening to you, one bird picks your house and then they all just come to sit around-creeptastic.

That movie is completely creepy. So are all these dang black birds that SWARM around this neighborhood! It's freaky to look out and see DOZENS of birds in any given tree at any given moment. Yuck.

Glad I park in a garage!

Hey Shannon...I read this and just had to comment because I can totally relate! I thought the very same thing a few weeks ago here. Birds. Everywhere. SO creepy. Totally reminded me of the movie.

What kind of birds?

This happened in San Diego by Wendy's house a few years ago. Jillions of black birds circling in huge flocks, and some of them landing on houses and lawns. They were not terribly noisy, though. I think they were ravens- black, sleek and fairly large. People were out taking pictures. Didn't creep me out, but then I've never seen the movie. Nor will I!

I haven't seen the movie either. I noticed that your last posting was March 24, so thought I have better check up on you. But I noticed that Lisa commented on March 29 and you would have had to approve her comment, so you must be OK. Whew!! What a relief!
